ARE DISCUS DIFFICULT TO FEED?
Discus have very small mouths and desire a soft, small form of food. Discus are also mid-water feeders, they usually will refuse to feed at the surface. This can make flake foods difficult to be accepted. Although Discus will eat off the bottom, they are most comfortable eating in the mid-water. This is one reason why live foods such as live Brine Shrimp are usually the most acceptable.

CAN OTHER FISH BE FED DISCUS FOOD?
Not only is Tetra Discus Food ideal for Discus, but is also ideal for all other mid-water feeders. Because Tetra Discus Food slowly sinks to the bottom, it is totally acceptable to all bottom feeders; Barbs, Zebras, Catfish and Loaches will thrive on Tetra Discus Food. When top water feeders such as Neons are kept with Discus, Tetra Discus Food should be combined with a Tetra Flake Food, either TetraMin or Tetra Ruby. And for African Cichlid enthusiasts, Tetra Discus Food is great for those bottom dwellers from Lake Tanganyika!
HOW TO FEED TETRA DISCUS FOOD
Tetra Discus food should be fed proportionately as other Tetra foods, i.e. enough for the fish to consume in two minutes several times a day. Since it is a new form of food, the initial acceptance will be slow, particularly among Discus feeding on only live foods. The recommended method to acclimate Discus to this new food is to mix Tetra Discus Food in a small proportion with live food; over the course of several weeks increase the proportion until a 100% Discus Food ratio is achieved. Not only will all Discus now totally accept Tetra Discus Food but their health, vitality and natural colors will be enhanced.

Emulgated multi-vitamin preparation for strengthening fish during or after diseases, after introducing them into a new aquarium, for breeding and to vitaminize food for fish fry. sera fishtamin is also suitable for strengthening pond fish before and after hibernation. It can be added directly into the aquarium water. It is better, however, to drip 6 - 7 drops per fish directly onto the food a few minutes before feeding once a week. Pond fish should get 10 - 12 drops sera fishtamin per fish every day for three weeks.
